Fortress Safes
1st Security's Fortress safe models are Underwriters Laboratories labeled as security containers in addition to the UL label for one hour fire test.
Safes with the one hour fire test label are considered to have sufficient fire resistance when used in a wood frame structure. For the torturous one hour test, a safe is placed in an oven and heated to temperatures up to 1700° F for one hour, then the safe is allowed to cool for 12 hours. At no time during this test can the interior temperature reach or exceed 350° F.
They are well constructed to add a moderate degree of burglar resistance in conjunction with fire protection.
All Fortress safes have a combination lock which is equipped with a key locking dial so that they can be locked by use of the key only for convenience for short periods of time. For overnight or if safe is in an unattended area. the combination dial lock should be utilized
